We were riding out to meet the sun, we were shaking from the things we’d done
We were breaking every pattern, straying from the map to make a new life on the run

It was early 2012 and one of my friends made me a playlist featuring a bunch of new bands for me to check out. Little I knew that this particular playlist included one band that would inspire my entire world. Their name was The Virginmarys.

Interview / Ed Tullett

Brighton based solo artist Ed Tullett has been paving his way through the music universe for some time now. And with a serious gift. His acclaimed remix of Bon Iver’s Hinnom, TX, collaboration with Novo Amor as well as having his music featured on TV shows such as Pretty Little Liars, Bones and Catfish all led to the recent release of his debut Fiancé, which ought to be described as an epicly powerful masterpiece with beautifully haunting sound waves.

Check out MGMB’s convo with Ed about Fiancé and all things music.

Track of the Week / The Virginmarys – Motherless Land

It’s been three long years since MGMB’s favourite Macclesfield trio The Virginmarys released their magnificent debut album King of Conflict, which recieved a lot of praise and has been blasting out loud countless times by their most dedicated fans as well as other huge punk/rock enthusiasts. If you’ve attended the band’s most recent gigs, you’ve had the great pleasure of hearing some new material including their brand new track Motherless Land, which the guys shared with us this week alongside the long-awaited announcement of their sophomore record Divides and its awesome artwork.

Divides will be out on May 6th via Wind-Up Records and the guys also confirmed on their Facebook page that the physical copy pre-orders will be available soon. And to top it all up, it seems that there will be vinyl too. Hell yes!

You can now purchase the stunning new tune Motherless Land on iTunes together with their previous single Into Dust, or you can pre-order Divides and get both tracks immediately. Either way, just go and buy the music and let the countdown begin!

Peace. Love. Truth.

Interview / Stonefield

Stonefield – the sisterhood charged with a pure rock&roll.

I believe that’s the right way to describe the Led Zep inspired band from Victoria, Australia. I had the pleasure of witnessing one of their live performances a while back here in UK and all I can say is that these ladies know how to put on a memorable show. Loud guitars, crushing drums, terriffic vocals and a sound full of right influences yet an authentic spirit.

Stonefield plan to release their new album this year and you can already purchase their latest single Golden Dream on iTunes. I caught up with the band to talk about their childhood, favourite records, new album, going on their first US tour, supporting Fleetwood Mac and their opinion on feminism.
